What is the Fight All About?

Have you ever stopped to ask: What is this fight really about?

When we begin to understand the promises of God—our inheritance—it changes everything. Suddenly, the battles we face take on a new perspective. We realise we’re not fighting random opposition; we’re fighting for something God has already said is ours.

This is the shift: what we’re fighting for is often the very thing God has promised.

And once you see it, you fight differently.

The Promise and the Position

Scripture shows us that every promise comes with a position—and that position is war.

The Promised Land was given to the Israelites, but it was occupied by their enemy.

Their freedom from Egypt was instant, but their inheritance required courage and obedience to take possession.

God didn’t deliver them to wander—He delivered them to possess.

It’s the same with us. Whether it’s peace, purpose, provision, or legacy—our inheritance isn’t handed over without resistance. But now we know: the resistance is a clue to the promise.

Real Fights, Real Promises

Maybe you’re in a struggling marriage, and you’ve begun to realise it’s part of a generational pattern. You were raised in a dysfunctional home, and you now sense the call to fight—not just for survival, but for a God-honouring, healthy marriage. That’s not just a hope; that’s an inheritance. And what you win in this fight will flow into generations after you.

One of my own personal “fights” has been for our children—to see each of them live fully surrendered to God’s call, to have strong, Godly marriages, and raise worshipping, Word-filled families. That’s a promise I’ve contended for because I became aware that not all the generations before us had walked fully with the Lord. This is part of the territory God has marked for us—and it’s worth fighting for.

The Invitation

This is not a call to strive—it’s an invitation to partner with God.

His promises are “Yes,” and He’s waiting for our “Amen.” (2 Cor 1:20)

He says:

“I have given you the land… now go in and possess it.” — Deuteronomy 1:8

God is not just giving us promises—He’s calling us into faith, courage, and movement.

To agree with Him. To take ground. To rise up and say,

“This battle matters because this land is mine.”

Where Have You Stopped Fighting?

Could it be that the area of greatest pressure in your life is connected to your promise?

Don’t back down. Don’t retreat.

You are not just fighting opposition—you’re contending for inheritance.

Now is the time to rise.

Be strong. Be courageous.

And take hold of what God has already said is yours
